This is an introduction to the alpine environment for those who want 'a little more'. Based at Chancellor Hut above the Fox Glacier, you will attempt a climb of Chancellor Dome (2004 metres), spend one night in historic Chancellor Hut and one night camping on the Fox Neve (weather dependent).
Course topics include: techniques for traveling on snow and ice, abseilling, rope systems, glacier travel, snow and ice anchors, multi pitch climbing, navigation and mountain weather
Fitness level:
An above average level of fitness is required. No previous climbing experience is required.

NZ$1295.00 (GST incl.) per person
Minimum of 2 people per course
Valid from 1 October 2009 to 30 September 2010
Cost includes:
NZMGA qualified guide, helicopter flights into and out of the mountains, hut fees, all meals and snacks, technical safety equipment.
